John Jones has more than 30 years of journalism and marketing experience, with a focus on men’s fashion. He was the Fashion Director of MR Magazine for eight years, where he produced and styled the retail trade publication’s fashion pages, reported industry news and wrote retailer and executive profiles. He also penned category analysis stories on the tailored clothing, furnishings, sportswear and accessories markets. While at MR, he also wrote for Forum magazine, covering the latest gear from cool cameras to exotic bicycles. "JJ" got his start in journalism while still in college, interning at both LDB/Interior Textiles—a home fashions trade—and Young Fashions—a children’s wear publication.

John also has a varied career in marketing and public relations, representing a cross-section of fashion and lifestyle clients, working both in-house and with agencies. He was most recently director of marketing at Robert Talbott, Inc., where he developed and executed public relations and marketing programs on behalf of the Monterey, California-based luxury menswear brand. He was also vice president of menswear at Kenwerks, a creative marketing agency with offices in New York and Los Angeles. John has also held roles at Raffi, a luxury knitwear brand, and J.G. Hook, a licensed brand in men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories as well as home furnishings. He’s also worked at agencies Steinreich Communications, Evins Communications and Judith Agisim Associates…and even spent a few years at the American Institute of CPAs.

Originally from palindromic Apollo, PA (near Pittsburgh); Jones received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications from the Fashion Institute of Technology. He is currently the President of its Alumni Association. He resides in Jersey City, N.J., with his husband…and many cats...splitting their time between a second home in St. Augustine, Florida; a lovingly restored Victorian “Cracker” house in the city’s historic Lincolnville district. John also works out regularly and completed his first two Tough Mudders in 2017.
