That led her to write the international best-seller “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” and then “Spark Joy,” an illustrated guide to her method. The books led to the launch of Kondo’s recently debuted Netflix series, Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. She begins the tidying process in the closet by dumping every item of clothing you own into one massive pile. You then sort through each and every piece to figure out if it “sparks joy” for you.
